Salvage & Recovery

Grounded vessels, lost anchors, capsized barges, dropped objects – These are just some examples of the salvage and recovery works that divers are involved in. Salvage and recovery jobs pose a certain degree of risk and requires detailed planning and execution.

Divetech Offshore with our team of experienced divers has been involved in various projects for salvage and recovery, executing the tasks on hand safely and successfully.

Thrusters Installation / Removal

Semi subs, FPSOs are outfitted with azimuth thrusters for maneuverability and positioning.

At times, removal of the thrusters for maintenance or decommisioning is required. Installation of thrusters are normally carried thereafter or for new builds.

Such thrusters could weigh up to as much as 100 to 120 tons each. Divers are normally deployed to assist in the rigging up of the thrusters for load transfer underwater with the assistance of a strain jack.

Remote Operated Vehicles (ROV)

In situations offshore where subsea intervention by divers are considered too risky or too deep, or when carrying out pipeline inspections of hydroelectric plant pipelines that can run for kilometers long in length, ROVs are utilised in place.

Divetech Offshore has worked along side established names in the market and offers solutions with specific ROVs that is appropriate for project demands. Works performed by ROVs include UWILDs, clearing of marine growth on offshore structures, risers and mooring chains as well as the subsea installation of diamond cutters and other hydraulic tools.
